When you purchase SmartShoot’s online video promotion service your video is adding to the leading video and search sites around the Web, including sites like: YouTube, Daily Motion, Metacafe and more. Plus you’re video can be added to your Facebook Page and your Google Local listing.

Because we don’t own these sites we can’t control how long it will take for your video to appear on each property. Most are within a few days, but your video can take up to 6 weeks to show up on your Google Local listing. And, if some of you are like us, you just can’t wait that long. So if you’re itching to get your video on your Google Local listing you can do it yourself following these five steps. (If you’re OK with waiting rest assured that we’ve sent your video to Google and it will be up within 4 to 6 weeks.)

How to Add Your Video to Your Google Local Listing

Step 1 – Find your video on YouTube

Visit and type the name of your business into the search bar to find your business video. You may want to put your business name in quotes if it’s made up of several words. That way YouTube will know to search for the whole name instead of each individual word. For example if I own a company called Morgan’s Marvelous Movers I would search “Morgan’s Marvelous Movers” to find my video. Once you’ve found your video you want to copy the URL (also called a link) to your video from your video page. The below image shows you what you should be looking for.

Step 2 – Find Your Business’s Google Local Listing

Visit Google Maps and search for your business by typing in your business name and address into the search bar.

Step 3 – Edit Your Business Listing

Once you’ve found your business listing, click on the “Edit Your Business Listing” link. If you have not yet claimed your business listing you can do so by following the directions from Google. It’s easy and takes only a minute. Once you’ve confirmed that the listing is yours and you’ve successfully reached the edit screen choose the “Videos” tab.

Step 4 – Add Your Video to Your Listing

Click on the “Videos” tab from the edit page. Paste your video URL from YouTube into the box and then hit “Add Video.”

That’s it! Your video is now added to your business’s Google Local listing! The last step? Send the page to your friends and have them check out your shiny new video! Have any questions? You can always email us at
